Pondicherry: Photo walk!

Pondicherry aka Puducherry, and commonly referred to as just Pondy, is one of the seven Union Territories of India situated on the south-east coast of India.

Close to Promenade Beach is a White Town area, which is built in such a way that it resembles cities of France.

It is said that in 1673, French people started migrating to Puducherry. In order to feel home, they started to built houses following the French style of architecture. And before anyone realized, this region was filled with these organized French residences, which now is known as the Little France.

The streets of the French Quarter of Pondicherry, also known as White Town, are dotted with charming mustard-yellow colonial structures. These are interspersed with cafes and chic boutiques that offer delectable French cuisine and beverages.

Simply strolling down these streets, can give the traveler an insight into the fairy tale charm of Pondicherry – here are a few glimpses!

We cant wait to once again explore the streets of Pondicherry and experience the gorgeous seaside promenade, and witness the Bay of Bengal playfully splashing the shores of the famous Rock beach.
